"Ravens" is an ecstatic evocation of the ominous birds in flight, with independent lines of flowing eighth notes in E minor spinning through the air. The counterpoint recalls the Bach Brandenburg Concertos, but the driving, syncopated accompaniment and the syncopated note groupings mark "Ravens" as a contemporary selection. This is a fitting selection for a fall or Halloween program.
